After the former developers at Yukes moved on from the series, it was left to 2K’s own in-house studio take reigns.
However, after the catastrophic failure and PR nightmare that was WWE 2K20, the developers are taking a year off to hopefully work on a better product. While many gamers don’t enjoy the series for several reasons, there are gamers that just like fans of the Madden or FIFA series that will buy it every year without fail for love of the sport. The WWE 2K series has always been a divisive franchise.
